Y3 trip to British Museum
Year 3 picked what felt like the wettest two days of the year to venture out to the British Museum. 3A and 3B went first on Tuesday and then on Wednesday it was 3C’s turn. The trip was designed to be a climax to the year 3’s ancient Greek topic. Whilst at the museum, the children had the opportunity to take part in a self-led iPad workshop tour of the Parthenon Galleries. The children found this enthralling and spent over an hour and a half in these galleries alone. By the end of the visit, the children had been so engaged in their trip that when they stepped outside one of the children couldn’t believe it was still light! I am very proud to report that, on the tube journey home, a member of the public approached Mr Hone to tell him that she had overheard the children talking about Ancient Greece and wanted to congratulate him on how intelligent and well behaved our children are. On arriving home, Miss Clarke was shocked to see that she had clocked up 15,000 steps on her pedometer. Wow! An opportunity to get fit and deepen understanding of history - sounds like the perfect trip to me.
