World Book Day
We have had a fantastic week at Chobham this week - jam packed with learning and fun. The highlight of this week had to be World Book Day. Despite having to reschedule as a result of the snow, everyone still made a huge effort with their costumes and the day was a roaring success - thank you! It was great to see teaching teams who had dressed up as characters from the same book: year 2 as the Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe, year 4 as Little Red Riding Hood and year 6 as Alice in Wonderland. Year 3-6 were treated to a fantastic retelling of the Bulgarian story The Wolf’s Eyelash by storyteller and actress Thalissa Teixeira who managed to squeeze in a visit to us before she jets off to perform in a play on Broadway. We loved having lots of parent readers in to share well loved books with their children’s classes - we will look for more opportunities to do this again. So many children managed to get a ‘new to them’ books in the Great Chobham Book Exchange and, at the end of the day, all the children were lucky enough to go home with their own brand new book to keep. I can’t wait till next year!
We have Science Week to look forward to next week. Please make sure you have looked through the outline for the week which was sent out on Monday and keep the junk coming in for building our model sustainable cities. We look forward to seeing you at the work sharing next Friday after school.
