Spotlight on Gardening Club
On Monday, a small group of excited children kicked off this term’s series of after school clubs by attending gardening club. We are delighted to welcome two parents (Renata Mason - Lucas in 3B and Amelia in RA - and Claire Walker - Lincoln in 4C and Vivienne in 1B) to run our gardening club. We are so grateful to these parents for giving up their time to run the weekly gardening club. There is an action packed programme with different activities each week. As you can see pictured below, the children made ‘cress heads’ this week. I have loved watching their hair grow as they have been sitting on the windowsill in my office all week and I am looking forward to tasting some in my egg sandwiches! Over the coming weeks, the following activities are planned: planting pea, sunflower and tomato seeds; creating a bug hotel; making seed bombs; going on a bug hunt; making a salad with the crops they have grown. It sounds fantastic and the children are very lucky to be involved.
Thank you Claire and Renata!
