The first & most important part of making positive changes is showing that you want to change. These amazing young people did not have to attend school today. However, they did not want to miss the session and got themselves in. Very proud. https://t.co/lCwhsgNoSU

Nationals Careers Week 2017 - 6th – 11th March

“NCW is run as a not-for-profit company to promote the importance of good careers education in schools and colleges, founded and backed by a number of volunteers with a wealth of experience from education, business and careers guidance.”

Find more information about National Careers Week at the link below:

The aim of the Careers Guidance and Advice at Chobham Academy is to ensure that the students who study here are exceptionally well prepared for the next stage of their education, training or employment (Ofsted 2016).

Careers Advisor

Students at Chobham Academy are able to work with a highly experienced Careers Advisor called Ann Evans.  She is part of the Harris Federation Careers Advisor team and working across the Federation Academies.  She offers bespoke and personalised careers guidance and advice.  Students across the year groups have access to her advice, either through 1:1 interviews, group interviews, assemblies, tutor programme or through the lunch time drop in clinic.

Cascaid Careers Software

All students at Chobham Academy have access to the Kudos careers guidance software – please see link below:

https://kudos.cascaid.co.uk/#/

Kudos will give you all the information you need to make important decisions about future careers and what subjects, courses and training you can do to reach your career destination.  If you are unsure of what careers you might be interested in, Kudos can give ideas based on what you like and dislike. You can also discover what careers your subjects can lead to. Packed with information on what employers are looking for, what you can earn and what qualifications you’ll need, Kudos is your passport to exploring your future.

Tutor Programme/Innovation Days

At various points in the Academic year, students from Year 7 to 13 have access to a bespoke year group career focused tutor programme. This includes a range of guidance from UCAS and Higher Education to GCSE options.  The Innovation Day programme also provides an opportunity for students to develop their work skills in a range of settings

External Partnerships

Chobham Academy has been selected to take part in a pilot project between Chobham Academy and Creative Skills Set, a link to the company can be found below:

http://creativeskillset.org/

A selection of Year 12 students will be working as mentors for Year 10 students. This opportunity will provide both year groups with an opportunity to develop their creative design skills, have a greater understanding of the careers available in the Creative Digital Industries, and work in partnership with Stratford Circus and also Stratford Theatre.  Students who take part in the pilot will also have access to a ‘drop-in career advice clinic’ provided to them by Stratford Circus and Stratford Theatre. The pilot project will last 6 months with the aim of the pilot project will be to produce a website page that informs young people of the career choices in the creative industries.
