Key dates during the Spring Term for the Option Choices process

 

 

Thursday 19th January          

Year 8 Assembly

We introduced the Option Choices process to your child

 

Monday 30th January and Thursday 2nd February

 

Week beginning 6th February

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

20th February

 

 

Year 8 Assembly.

 

 

 

 

Year 8 Tutor sessions.

 

 

 

 

 

Option booklets and forms sent home.

 

 

 

‘Try before you buy’.

The option subjects presented an inspirational overview of what it would be like to study each subject.

 

 

Students will work through a programme of study sessions, using careers guidance software.  They will received advice and guidance from their tutors, careers advisor and also Y12 prefects.

 

A full and comprehensive guide for students and parents on each of the options subjects and the process.

 

 

A series of taster lessons, where students will be able to choose two.  The event will take place from 3pm-4.10pm

 

 

16th March

Y8 Parent Consultation Evening.

 

An opportunity for you and your child to explore different subject areas and ask questions about the process as a whole, whilst also receiving feedback on your child’s progress in Y8. 

Each child and parent will also meet with a member of the Academy Leadership Team to ensure that the choices they make are both informed and appropriate.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Monday 24th

March

Option Choices forms returned to form tutors.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Early July

Your child will be informed of their GCSE subjects.
