Musical Instrument Tuition

We are very pleased to announce that our provision for musical instrument tuition is increasing with effect from January 2015. Music is an important part of our Performing Arts specialism and it is our aim to provide a wide range of musical opportunities for all our students.  All students in Year 8 currently receive an instrument and instrument tuition each week as do students in Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5 who are studying Music and Performing Arts GCSE, A-Level or BTEC.  This provision will expand to include musical instruments and instrument tuition for all Year 5, 6 and 7 students from January.  Instrument tuition will be for 30 minutes per week and will take place during the school day.  Students will be taught in small groups and will have their own instrument to take home and practice.  Furthermore, students in Years 3 and 4 will also receive whole-class musical tuition for 30 minutes per week from January and primary students will be offered a range of exciting extra-curricular music clubs including a Choir, Recorder Group and Orchestra.  I hope that all students will take full advantage of these fantastic opportunities and I look forward to all the great performances that are to come!
