At Chobham Academy, A-Level Government and Politics aims to help students acquire knowledge and an understanding of how governmental institutions and their processes work. To equip all students with the knowledge and skills needed to make a positive contribution in their communities, to society and the workplace.

Key Stage 5

In Year 12 students study

Unit 1 People, Politics and Participation

Unit 2 Governing Modern Britain

In Year 13 students study

Unit 3a The Politics of the USA

Unit 4a The Government of the USA

ILT Tasks: Homework tasks are formulated from course content. Topical essays will be set and assessed weekly; based on the examining body’s past papers and mark schemes. Students may also on occasion be required to use ICT to produce presentations for in class workshop assessments.
